Traveling along with our Heroes

I was able to hand out at least 5 of these in the airport coming home for Christmas! I fly back out tomorrow — wonder how many more heroes I’ll be able to thank!!,,Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!

This Family “gets it”

Thank you so much, we have given out 50+ of these and I tear up every time my children hand these out.  We have been out for a while and every time we pass a soldier my kids ask we are out of cards.  Thanks so much!  The smiles from the soldiers are AWSOME!

I’ve been handing out these cards for years

I’ve been handing out these cards for years – airports are the best place to do it – soldiers don’t expect them.  Sometimes, you can just slip them into their backpacks and disappear. Then the find it and look around – it’s kind of cool,,I volunteer at the VA Hospital in Mpls. The other day, I was talking to a 90 year old WWII vet. He didn’t want to take the card, “It was my job, you see. I was a blacksmith and they needed me.” I insisted – he finally took the card and the smile on his face later made my persistence worthwhile.,,Yesterday’s soldiers looked at their role as a job; they understood the threat to humanity. Today’s soldiers also understand but unfortunately, too many non-soldiers do not understand. The ratio of active FT military to non-military population is 200:1. We must support them any way we can – these cards provide an excellent way to show support.,,Richard, you’ve done a great job!

I was handed one of your cards

I was in Walmart the other day and I was handed one of your cards, and I was touched that this lady took the time to remember our veterans.  I wanted to know as you see I am a 100% disabled veteran but I also am the President/CEO of the Disabled Veterans Committee on Housing and would like to obtain your cards, but I wanted to know what your rates were for other non profits as I am looking at maybe 500 to 1000 of your cards, so that I can send them to veterans that I work with and give them to veterans when I attend “Stand Downs”, and attend homeless veterans functions which I was at at Martinsburg VA Medical Center on the 12th for over 600 homeless veterans from three states.
May the holiday Season be filled with the Spirit of the Old meaning that Christmas stood for when I was a child and that’s over 50 years ago.  May the Holidays be filled with that Spirit and Joy.

In the past

In the past we have tried to thank the Service men and women when we see them. However, at times they are at a restaurant eating, making a purchase, etc. and we have not been able to reach them to give our appreciation. A friend handed me about 5 of these to pass out, and I have now used them all! The smiles, surprised expressions on faces and the verbal thanks back to us are so heartwarming for us all. Thank you for making these available. Merry Christmas!,

First time in Army history

I lost my nephew in Iraq 5 yrs. ago.  A week later, after identifying his body, my sister, (his mom) died in my arms. We buried them side by side on the same day (first time in Army history).  I give these cards to every service person or family member I meet, as well as giving these cards to my family members all around the country, to do the same.  THANK YOU for printing these.  We also anonymously buy meals, soda, and gas for military personnel whenever we can.  It helps to do what we can for those still serving.

Awesome Idea

This was an awesome idea. I got my first cards from my father and have enjoyed handing them out to our American heroes. I believe that they enjoy and appreciate getting them as well. I will be mailing you a donation to help keep this tradition going. Thank you once again and may God Bless you and your family.,,Sincerily,

20 year Navy Vet

I have never met so many people that are currently serving or have served in the military until I started passing out these cards.  I have shared stories with people who have served during WWII all the way through Afghanistan.  I enjoy giving these cards out because it gives me a good feeling recognizing people and their military service.,    I am proud to have served 20 years and 3 months in the US Navy.  Please keep up the good work.
